Relax With Dental Sedation Options
Treat yourself to stress-free dentistry with the dental sedation options at Alluring Smiles! Dr. Portocarrero, a graduate of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and our compassionate team have several ways to relieve your dental anxiety at our Mesa, AZ dentist office!
Three Dental Sedation Options to Soothe You
Because every patient is unique, we provide three levels of dental sedation to address your particular concerns. In some cases, we can even combine different types of dental sedation.
Inhaled sedation is a mixture of oxygen and medication that you inhale through a small mask. The mild euphoria sets in quickly, alleviating any concerns. The effect wears off quickly so you can drive yourself to and from your visit if you wish. It’s so safe we can even give it to young children!
Dr. Portocarrero can also provide oral conscious sedation in pill form during an initial consultation. At a predetermined time, you’ll take the medication so you can arrive at our office already relaxed! You’ll need a trusted friend or family member to take you to and from your appointment.
The strongest form of sedation we offer, IV sedation, produces an almost dream-like state in moments. Many patients only have a vague memory of their visit! You’ll need a ride home from your appointment.
