The first time I see a patient it's really important to understand where they've been so that we can help them, and where they're at now and we can help them reach their goals that they want with their mouth. So, when they come in the first thing that they'll do is they'll fill out a complete medical history. We want make sure that we understand the overall picture of their health. Once we do that, when they come in we take full pictures of their mouth so we can see their teeth, both photographs and what we call intraoral x-rays, which are basically just images of your teeth so I can see where the problems may be. We look in your mouth, we look for any kind of things that might be on your gums, or your tongue. Sometimes things that can be red flags to other diseases that could be medical type of things.
So, we just do a complete exam. We also check your gums to make sure that there isn't any gum disease, and if there is we can help with the options to treat that. Once you come in and we go over all that, then we sit down with you, we have options given to us, and we can give you what we call multiple treatment plans, or optional treatment plans to just help you to understand your options. After we do that, our financial coordinators will go and talk to you about your options as far as paying for your dental work. A lot of people have insurance and we can help you navigate your insurance, what your insurance is gonna cover, what your out-of-pocket will be. Then for people who don't have insurance we do have in-office plans that significantly discounts our dental fees, and it helps you to be able to establish a dental home that will help you to get your treatment done.
We also do offer interest-free payment, and we do those through Care Credit. We just want to make sure that people understand that dental work, if it goes too long without being addressed it just gets worse, and it's kind of that self-fulfilling prophecy, and I'm sure that a lot of people can relate, that you put it off, you put it off, and then when you finally do come in it really is that nightmare that you were hoping to avoid. But, we try to make it as comfortable and as easy for you so that we can avoid those problems down the road, and just treat things in a simple way.
